- 20 countries have established national accreditation bodies since 2001
- The ILAC network of members includes 139 bodies covering a total of 92 different economies
Growth of accredited organisations
- The number of accredited laboratories has increased significantly in the last five years. There are currently almost 40,000 accredited laboratories, representing growth of over 50% since 2004.

- The number of accredited Inspection Bodies has increased from 1842 in 2004 to 6734 in 2010.

Increased Regulator Recognition
- Accreditation is constantly gaining greater recognition from Regulators. Regulatory acceptance of results from accredited organisations has increased by 36% since 2002. In 2010, 77% of Regulators accept the results from accredited organisations.
- Based on the results of the 2010 survey of ILAC Full Members, restricted acceptance of results has been reduced to zero, demonstrating the confidence that Regulators place on the value of accreditation to deliver accurate results.
