- The number of accredited laboratories has increased significantly in the last five years. There are currently almost 35,000 accredited laboratories, representing growth of over 40% since 2004.

- The number of accredited Inspection Bodies has increased from 1842 in 2004 to 6373 in 2009.

Increased Regulator Recognition
- Accreditation is constantly gaining greater recognition from Regulators. Regulatory acceptance of results from accredited organisations has increased by 27% since 2002. In 2008, 68% of Regulators accept the results from accredited organisations.
- Restricted acceptance of results has reduced by 16.5% to only 7.5%, demonstrating the confidence that Regulators place on the value of accreditation to deliver accurate results.
